And They're Off

No. 11 Lehigh 35, Holy Cross 10
The Mountain Hawks jumped out to a 21-0 lead and cruised to a convincing road win before a crowd of 11,472 at Fitton Field.

All-America tailback Luke Yoder ran for 130 yards and three touchdown and Hayden Johnson added a 65-yard TD run for Lehigh.

No. 15 Tennessee Tech 38, Monmouth 14
Tech quarterback Jax Leatherwood torched Monmouth with 24-of-35 passing for 289 yards with four touchdowns.

Hawks' quarterback Frankie Weaver was 20-for-41 for 179 yards and a touchdown against Tennessee Tech, picked second in the Southern Conference Coaches poll. The game at Cookeville, Tenn., drew 4,800.

No. 7 Rhode Island 34, Merrimack 7
The Warriors had more first downs, outgained URI and held Rams' quarterbacks to 13-of-31 passing, but  two interceptions, two lost fumbles and three sacks proved costly in a Friday night contest.

Dartmouth grad transfer Micah Green led Merrimack with nine tackles. Attendance at Merrimack was listed as 4,175.
