Saturday Stuff

A reminder that Dartmouth kicks off the preseason one week from today. Be sure to bookmark BGA Overtime for full coverage of camp and the 2026 Big Green football season.

All credit to Niko Lalos'20, who keeps fighting to make his way back to the NFL:

A reminder that Lalos – bidding to make the Patriots as a long snapper – is one of four former Dartmouth players in NFL camps right now. He's joined by offensive lineman Delby Lemieux '26 with the Vikings, defensive lineman Josiah Green '25 with the Buccaneers, and corner Tyron Herring '23, with the Browns.

Corner Isaiah Johnson '22, who saw time last year with the Dolphins, would have been in camp this summer but is rehabbing from an ACL tear late last season.

And finally, Flo Orimolade '17, continues to put the fear in opposing quarterbacks as a pass rusher for the Calgary Stampeders.

HERO Sports continues its "Best of" series with a look at who the site thinks are the best defensive backs in the nation in the FCS.

Dartmouth safety Harrison Keith comes in at No. 22 and is joined by a bevy of Ivy Leaguers:
2. Abu Kamar, Yale Slot
4. Damie Henderson, Harvard CB
20. Brandon Webster, Yale CB
21. Torian Roberts, Princeton CB
22. Harrison Keith, Dartmouth FS
34. Ty Cortes, Penn FS
37. Evan Haynie, Princeton CB

Also making the cut were two other D-backs Dartmouth will see this fall:

11 Jaeden Jones, Monmouth FS
14 Nick Peltekian, Lehigh S

EXTRA POINT
Readers occasionally send along emails asking about things to do when they are in town for a game. Between now and the start of the season, I'll drop a few ideas in this spot. Here's one:

Mrs. BGA and I hadn't been to VINS – the Vermont Institute of Natural Science – in a long time and with two National Park rangers visiting this weekend, we figured the time had come to go back. It's just a dozen or so miles from the Dartmouth campus and has a remarkable new feature we hadn't experienced before. Completed in 2022, the VINS Forest Canopy Walk alone is worth the entrance fee. As a bonus, stop at the Quechee Gorge, just this side of VINS.

Here are a couple of photos I took yesterday, and a still from a VINS video that gives an indication of what the "tree house" is like.

Viewing platforms tower in the trees.

Climb down into the "spider web" if you dare.

The VINS tree house looms high above the already elevated canopy walk and offers a distant view of nesting bald eagles.
