Dartmouth's jayvee team opened yesterday with a 20-7 win over Middlebury. Ernest Evans (7-of-13 for 111 yards and one TD) and Thomas Militello (11-of-13 for 106 yards) split time at quarterback. Houston Brown caught seven passes for 93 yards and a touchdown and classmate Alex McCrory had an interception return for a score to lead the Big Green. As always, BGA Premium had full day-of-the-game coverage and stats.
Stay tuned for a few changes in those football heights and weights from the other day ;-)
Saturday's games featuring Dartmouth opponents:

Holy Cross 52, Central Connecticut 21
story and stats
Maybe the Crusader obituary was a little premature. Holy Cross (1-2) piled up 522 yards of total offense while limiting Central Connecticut to 246. Tailback Reggie Woods ran for 153 yards and Elad Covaliu added 91 on 11 carries. Holy Cross piled up 419 rushing yards, their most since 1983. Keep in mind, while Central Connecticut is 0-3 it had Lehigh on the ropes a week ago before losing in overtime, 51-44. CCSU's other loss was to James Madison, whose only loss was to the same Akron team that nearly beat Michigan yesterday.

Butler 31, Franklin 28
story and stats
Granted, Franklin is a pretty good team and it was playing at home. Clarification. Franklin is a pretty good Division III team that was playing its opener. The Grizzlies had more first downs, 26-23, virtually the same total yards (395 for Butler, 389 for Franklin) and passed for 360 yards. Somewhere Dartmouth fans are breathing a sigh of relief because they didn't want to go into the opener at Butler worried about possibly stumbling against a team that lost to a Division III  team.

Bucknell had a bye week.
Not sure, but I have a sneaky suspicion someone at the New York Post got tipped off about a BGA Premium story last week. Check out this Post story that starts with Buddy Teevens recruiting Peyton Manning when he was at Tulane.  (Thanks for the link.)

Now check out this story from PGA Premium. I even think I know who tipped the Post off but not to worry. I'm sure Teevens doesn't mind the publicity in the Metropolitan area ;-)
The irony of what some people call "The Thing," happening out at Penn State is that PSU hosts the largest student-run philanthropy in the world and it raises money FTK – For The Kids – to help in the fight against pediatric cancer. Since 1977, THON has raised more than $101 million FTK, and in the past five years alone it has raised more than $50 million. This year's promotional video was released last week and it makes me enormously proud to be a Penn Stater, have a son who is a Penn Stater and a father-in-law who is a Penn Stater.
