Lalos Wins MVP

Watch former Dartmouth defensive end Niko Lalos (90 and left on your screen) come off the end for a couple of tackles and force a fumble by quarterback Deondre Francois in last night's Hula Bowl. The Big Green's success also gets a nice mention. Niko also gets a later mention as part of a terrific goal line stand.

Lalos certainly made the most of his opportunity. From a KHON2 report:
Dartmouth’s Niko Lalos earned team MVP honors for Team Aina with six tackles, two sacks and three TFLs.
And this from Newsweek, the title sponsor of the game:
Not surprisingly, the MVP of each team came from defense. Ironically, both were defensive ends. Niko Lalos of Dartmouth was the MVP of the red Aina squad while Reggie Walker of Kansas State was the MVP of the blue Kai team.
Googling Niko Lalos brought up this old STORY about when he was considering walking on as a tight end at Notre Dame. Gotta think his decision to choose Dartmouth turned out OK ;-)
Twitter has come through again with news that running back/linebacker Tevita Moimoi of Sacred Heart Prep in Atherton, Calif., has announced his decision to attend Dartmouth. (LINK)

Moimoi, who lists himself at 6-foot, 220-pounds in his Hudl highlight package, had offers from Harvard, Columbia, Air Force, San Diego and William & Mary. He was the PAL-Bay Division’s Co-MVP and chosen to the San Francisco Chronicle's All-Metro first team after running for 1,136 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also contributed 84 tackles and two sacks on defense.
