As far as we can tell, Buddy Teevens has so far been able to keep the Dartmouth coaching staff intact. A former Dartmouth player and one-year Big Green assistant, however, is moving on according to the well-informed Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports. He reports that Adam Scheier '95 is departing Rutgers for the role of tight ends/special teams coordinator at Temple.

Here's his Dartmouth bio as a player:

Scheier was Dartmouth's special teams player of the year as a senior and has a lengthy resumé largely as a special teams coach. He was the Bowling Green interim head coach for the 2013 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl. Here are his coaching stops:

1996: Dartmouth
1997-99: Columbia
2000-01: Princeton
2002-08: Lehigh
2009-13: Bowling Green
2014-16: Wake Forest
2017: Ohio State
2018: Texas Tech
2019: Mississippi State
2020-21: Rutgers
2022: Temple

With Dartmouth winter terms classes slated to begin today (LINK), the college's COVID Dashboard shows 72 active student cases (113 over the past seven days), 21 positive grad student cases and 33 among faculty and staff.

Regarding the start of the winter term, all student meals will be "grab-and-go" for at least two weeks. Also, per the story in The Dartmouth, "all students, faculty and staff are required to receive a COVID-19 booster shot by Jan. 31; individuals who are not currently eligible must receive their booster within 30 days of becoming eligible."

And also from The D. . .

"Students and employees must complete one PCR test per week, and unvaccinated individuals will be required to complete two PCR tests per week."

EXTRA POINT
The sun is out! The sun is out!

The forecast yesterday called for the first substantial sunshine since before Christmas (?) but until we got the peek in the photo below at about 4:30 yesterday afternoon, that was pure fiction. It was 0.2 degrees when I headed outside with Griff the Wonder Dog this morning and I'm hoping it's double-figures when I hit the trail in a bit on a chilly but bluebird day. It was 11 degrees hiking yesterday. Brrrr.
