Snowmageddon?

With Tuesday being the traditional National Signing Day there have been a number of Tweets showing up on player Twitter pages that look like this:

What havoc the New England/Northeast weather played on those travel plans I can't say. What I can say is while we had a lot of wind here on the New Hampshire/Vermont border, we had very little snow, perhaps as little as two or three inches.

Given that Tuesday is Signing Day, BGA Daily will once again endeavor to post photos from Dartmouth-centric ceremonies. To share photos, CLICK HERE. That will address an email to me with the subject line, SigningDay. In some years this site has managed to post photos of three-quarters or more of the incoming class, although that fell off last year with the introduction of the early Signing Day. (For a look at several photos from December signing ceremonies, click HERE.)

Speaking of signing, Columbia senior Dante Miller, the first-team All-Ivy League running back who averaged 5.8 yards per carry last fall, has taken a preferred walk-on spot at the University of South Carolina. (LINK)

EXTRA POINT
Watching the dramatic final round of the PGA Tour event at Torrey Pines yesterday two thoughts came to mind.

First, it was pretty smart of the PGA to play Wednesday through Saturday and not bump up against the NFL conference championship games.

And second, the aerial views of the Pacific Coast had me sighing.

Mrs. BGA and I escaped the New England cold perhaps a half dozen times in the past 10 years or so by scoring a couple of cheap Wanna Get Away fares and setting up camp for a week or two on a cliff over the Pacific Ocean just north of San Diego. We'd bring books and games, buy a couple of cheap bag chairs and spend lazy days soaking up the sun and making the occasional visit to In-N-Out.

We haven't been back since the pandemic hit. Fully vaccinated and boosted we had hoped to return to our cliffside hideaway this March but given the omicron variant it turns out that watching the golf tournament on TV and pulling up photos on our computers
is as close as we'll get this year.
