Dartmouth's Week 2 opponent played its second game last night and lost badly for the second time.
Delaware 42, Merrimack 7
The Warriors (0-2) trailed just 7-0 with four minutes left in the opening half before the FBS Blue Hens (1-0) scored four touchdowns over a span of about eight minutes bracketing halftime.Dartmouth grad transfer Micah Green had six tackles for Merrimack, which surrendered 435 yards passing and 547 yards of total offense. The game in Newark, Del, drew 17,268.
Merrimack has been outscored in its first two games, 76-14 (the opener was a 34-7 loss to Rhode Island) but it could be worse.
Rutgers paid UMass $1.55 million for the privilege of taking a loss at Piscataway only to have the Minutemen stop a 16-game losing streak with a 37-21 win over the Scarlet Knights as almost 30-point underdogs.
AJ Surace, son of Princeton coach Bob Surace, came on late in the game for Rutgers and completed 6-of-9 passes for 77 yards and one touchdown.

Elliott Carr recently left the OAC to become the Assistant AD for Strategic Communication at some other school somewhere, a school where he traded his orange and black for green. Given that Elliott stands 6-6, that makes him truly representative of the Big Green of his new employer, Dartmouth.
Even though he left for an Ivy League rival, Elliott deserves a few words of praise from TigerBlog, especially since there haven't been too many nicer people who ever walked into Jadwin Gym. He came to Princeton single and left for Hanover with his wife Colleen and son Leon.
No matter where his career takes him or whatever big events he gets to experience, it's likely — or actually almost a certainty — that he'll never have anything that matches his time with the Princeton men's basketball team during its run to the 2023 Sweet 16. Elliott was the men's basketball contact for that magical ride, and he was a great representative of Princeton in every way.
TB wishes him the best in Hanover. It was great to work with someone so upbeat, friendly, willing to help and easy going.

It's a beautiful morning here at our Vermont hillside home. Here's hoping the sun stays out and the '84 VW camper starts so I can take it to the little lake about two miles from here to write today's practice report and finish off tomorrow's feature story overlooking the water. Most years since we've lived here I've written at least a half dozen stories from my beloved "mobile office," but for some reason this would be the first time this year. Fingers crossed.
