In addition to a further review of the first scrimmage in last night's BGA Overtime, Dartmouth coach Sammy McCorkle offered a few thoughts on whether he'd be interested in a combined practice with another team in spring football if that gets the anticipated OK from the NCAA at the FCS level, and why the 5-for-5 rule won't bring back junior varsity football – although technically it could. Be sure to come back site tonight for another feature on the site.

If you tune in the Big Ten Network at 12:30 today and watch closely you'll see not one, not two, but three grad transfers from Dartmouth in uniform for the Ohio State-Ball State game from the Horseshoe. Max Wentz has been in a dogfight for the starting center position at Ball State with Sean Ward expected to be in the tight end rotation.

Vasean Washington provides depth for the Buckeyes and may get some time if the 49.5-point spread proves accurate.

A handful of other former Dartmouth players will be in action today and one in particular whose first outing with his new school will be interesting to watch is tailback DJ Crowther at South Florida. The Big Green's leading rusher in 2025 is expected to be the starter for the Bulls in their opener against FIU.

Grad transfer tight end Chris Corbo played 29 snaps in Georgia Tech's loss to Colorado but did not catch a pass. Yale grad transfer TE Spencer Mermans was on the field for 11 snaps. Kevin Roche, a 6-foot-9 junior, was the busiest tight end with 45 snaps and four catches for Tech as it lost, 14-13, when a field goal kick to win at the end was blocked.

Princeton has finally posted its 2026 roster and as expected, Utah transfer quarterback Wyatt Becker is on the roster. He is listed as a freshman, and there's no mention that he transferred from Utah.

EXTRA POINT
Well, my plan to take the '84 VW pop top camper to our little lake to write yesterday didn't go as planned. Apparently the coolant leak that our local mechanic thought he fixed gave way because the overflow tank was bone dry.

As they say in TV commercials, But wait, there's more. Before checking the coolant, I jump-started the bus (because we haven't been running it) and when I depressed the clutch, the pedal went straight to the floor. Checking under the bus, I discovered a puddle that I read indicates a leak in the hydraulic system.

It would seem our beloved VW camper is going to get another piggyback ride to our trusted VW mechanic up near Burlington next week.

It pains me to say this, but I'm not sure it will be coming home. 😢
